LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities are identifying a fugitive ex-convict killed in a gunfight that left an FBI agent wounded in Las Vegas as 32-year-old Javier Salomon Reyes.
Reyes died overnight at University Medical Center, where an FBI agent was treated and released after being shot in the chest and back during the exchange of gunfire Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities say the agent was protected by a ballistic vest and is expected to be OK. His name hasn't been released.
Records show Reyes was an ex-felon who served time in 2006 in Nevada State Prison.
He was sought Tuesday on several felony warrants on charges including armed robbery, burglary, assault, auto theft and domestic battery strangulation.
Gunfire erupted after Reyes ran from a criminal apprehension team in a neighborhood northeast of downtown Las Vegas.
