LAS VEGAS (AP) - Jurors are hearing graphic details in the murder trial of two people accused of torturing and killing a 42-year old man in Las Vegas and fleeing to Florida.
32-year-old Joey Salas and 25-year-old Cassandra Thomas are accused of bludgeoning Michael McClain with a table leg and baseball bat and shoving a screwdriver and pencil into his skull to kill him in 2006.
McClain's body was later found dumped in a construction site.
Authorities say Thomas wrote in excruciating detail of the slaying, which police say was spurred by the belief that McClain was responsible for the arrest of a Las Vegas woman on drug charges.
Thomas was arrested in June 2006 in Jacksonville, Florida, with a third defendant in the case, 21-year-old Corey Pearce. He is scheduled to go to trial later this year.
