Missing Woman's Remains Found in Las Vegas Wash

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Human remains found in the Las Vegas wash
have been identified as a Henderson woman reported missing last
year.

The Clark County coroner says the human skull found in the wash
belonged to 33-year-old Melanie Sutton.

Sutton's family and police say she disappeared last March during a middle of the night outing to the wash with her boyfriend.

Her clothing was found scattered along the wash the next day by
family members and volunteer searchers. Police say they believe drugs were involved.

Henderson Police Officer Todd Rasmussen says there is no evidence of foul play.

Authorities say Sutton's boyfriend, Joe Lopez, was questioned extensively and passed a lie detector's test.

Lopez says he and Melanie argued and that she ran off into the water where he could not find her despite searching for hours.
