LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police have announced a procedure to let
thousands of medical patients treated at clinics linked to a southern Nevada hepatitis C outbreak retrieve their personal medical records.
Starting Monday, patients can complete written request forms and
provide photo identification at any of the department's seven substations to get their records.
But department officials are asking people to wait until they need their documents to make their requests.
Officials say it takes time to find individual patient files among the more than 2,000 boxes of files seized March 10 from the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada, the Desert Shadow Endoscopy Center and six Gastroenterology Center of Nevada locations.
