Armed Man Wounded In Vegas Cemetery Standoff Expected To Recover

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a man is expected to recover
from a leg wound he got when he was shot by police following a
brief standoff at a cemetery.

Joshua Santiago, 37, allegedly pointed a gun at his own head before pointing it toward officers responding to a report of a distraught man shortly before midnight at the Davis Memorial Park in southeast Las Vegas.

One officer fired one shot, hitting him in the leg.

Officials said Santiago appeared distraught about the recent death of a relative.

Police say that when he is released from the hospital, he'll face a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.

The name of the officer involved is due to be released on Sunday.
