No Criminal Charges Against Las Vegas Judge in Sex Case

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - No criminal charges are expected against a Las Vegas family court judge accused of various judicial canon offenses - including a demand that his ex-wife's daughterhave sex with him to keep her job as his office assistant.

A Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission complaint against Clark County Family Court Judge Nicholas Del Vecchio alleges that he pressured the woman, in her mid-20s at the time, into having sex with him about once a month for several months in 2003.

The commission document also alleges a sexual contact with the woman years earlier, before Del Vecchio was on the bench and when
she was 14. But deadlines have passed for a separate criminal complaint that could be based on that allegation.

Clark County District Attorney David Roger says he has no criminal case involving the judge. He notes that a state law bars prosecutions in such cases years after an alleged offense.
