A Nye County man who gave authorities a videotape showing the sexual assault of a 2-year-old girl intends to plead guilty to a misdemeanor to avoid trial on a felony child pornography possession charge, his lawyer said.
Darrin Tuck, 27, could face up to one year in jail on the reduced charge -conspiracy to obstruct a public officer. His lawyer, Chris Rasmussen, said he will seek probation.
Tuck told police he found the video in the desert in Pahrump. The half-hour tape triggered a search for the girl seen on it, and a nationwide manhunt that ended with the Oct. 15 arrest of Chester Arthur Stiles, 37, in Henderson.
Stiles is accused of sexually assaulting the toddler in the video. He is due for trial April 14 on charges that could get him multiple life sentences.
The girl was found safe Sept. 28 in Las Vegas.
