A statement from the city says Gregory died Thursday after having suffered a heart attack last Friday.
Gregory was a 24-year veteran of the city court bench, including
seven years as chief judge.
Mayor Oscar Goodman calls him a lawyer, a gentleman and a learned scholar who was fair and always brought credit to the bench.
Gregory was originally from Lancaster, S.C., but lived in Las Vegas since 1946.
He practiced law with his father from 1958 until 1983, when he was appointed to the municipal court bench. He was also on the boards of several state and national legal and judicial organizations.
