A former high school track coach and substitute teacher is facing a criminal charge after he was accused of getting a female team member pregnant and helping her get an abortion.
27-year-old Kenneth Craig was arrested December 20th on a charge
of sexual misconduct with a student.
He's free now, pending a February 20th preliminary hearing in Las Vegas Justice Court.
The charge carries a possible sentence of one to five years in prison.
Craig worked as a substitute teacher for the Clark County School District from May 2003 to May 2007.
He was a track coach at Las Vegas High School from February to May 2006, according to a police arrest report.
Craig told school district police in March that he had sex with the student after she graduated.
But police say Craig's former girlfriend reported the relationship, and investigators obtained e-mails and messages between Craig and the then-17-year-old senior that contradict his account.
