Two people are dead and about 40 neighbors are looking for another place to live after an intense early morning fire at a Las Vegas apartment complex.
Neighbors say they pounded on doors to alert residents after flames broke out just before 2:30 a.m. at the complex about a mile west of the Las Vegas Strip.
Authorities say a woman and a man in a downstairs corner unit didn't get out in time.
Clark County firefighters are still trying to determine what caused the fire, which spread through a common attic area and damaged or destroyed 16 apartments.
