McCarran International Airport says it handled more than 4 million passengers in October.
The tally of people coming and going through the Las Vegas airport rose slightly from September, and was up 4.2 percent from October 2006.
That keeps the nation's sixth-busiest airport on a pace to soar past the record 46.2 million passengers it handled last year.
So far this year, it's handled 40.2 million passengers.
Southwest is still the busiest airline at the airport, followed by US Airways, United, Delta and Continental.
McCarran says US Airways saw a decrease of 21 percent in passenger traffic in October compared with a year earlier.
