LAS VEGAS (AP) - School officials in Las Vegas says a schools
chief in Florida has dropped out of consideration for the job of
Clark County school superintendent.
Clark County school Board President Terri Janison said Monday
that Lee County School District Superintendent James Browder has
withdrawn.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Browder is instead
taking a job at Edison State College in Florida.
That leaves Dallas Independent School District Superintendent
Michael Hinojosa (ee-no-HO'-sah) and Colorado Education
Commissioner Dwight D. Jones as finalists for the Las Vegas job.
They're due for introductions and interviews before a decision
is made on who'll head the nation's fifth-largest school district.
Walt Rulffes (RULE'-fiss) is due to step down in January after
more than three years as superintendent and nine years as chief
district financial officer.
