Union members representing about 1,800 workers at the Las Vegas Hilton have overwhelmingly approved a new five-year contract.
Highlights of the deal include a 3.7 percent increase in wages and benefits over the next five years. That amounts to $3.47 an hour.
It also maintains free family health insurance with no worker premiums and guaranteed gratuities for tipped workers.
About 8,500 members of the 60,000 strong Culinary Union are still working under old contracts which expired June 1st.
Properties that have not signed new deals with the union include the 12 downtown casinos, the Tropicana and two industrial laundry facilities.
