Police Car Chase Ends With Crash On Las Vegas Strip

A police chase has shut down the Las Vegas Strip after a man tried to flee in what police say was a stolen vehicle by heading the wrong way into traffic and smashing into a police cruiser.

Officer Ramon Denby says police were alerted by the OnStar network that a late model Chevy Suburban had been stolen in northern Las Vegas.

Police followed the driver before trying to box him in at the parking lot of the now-empty New Frontier hotel-casino.

Denby says the man rammed a police car, drove north on the southbound lane of Las Vegas Boulevard and smashed into another
police car that was coming to help.

The man fled the vehicle and tried to run away but was caught.

He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
