TORONTO (AP) - The brother of embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford says the siblings will host an online show.
Toronto City Councilor Doug Ford says the purpose of the show is "to get their message out and not have that message be twisted by the media." He spoke to The Associated Press by phone on Friday.
The mayor has been embroiled in scandal since admitting to smoking crack. Toronto's City Council recently stripped him of most his powers after he refused to resign.
Doug Ford says he and his brother will begin a self-funded online series called "Ford Nation," the term the mayor uses to describe his suburban conservative voter base.
Doug Ford says they plan to upload the first episode to YouTube before Christmas.
