CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - State lawmakers in Nevada serve as examples to their counterparts in Washington because they are putting state issues ahead of politics, says U.S. Rep. Dina Titus, D-Las Vegas.
Titus addressed a joint session of the Nevada Legislature on Thursday. Titus was the final member of the Nevada delegation to Washington to address this session.
She says Nevada is in a much better place now than four years ago when it was among the worst in the nation in unemployment and foreclosures.
Lawmakers on the federal and state levels must make significant investments in people, transportation infrastructure and green energy if America is to reach an unprecedented prosperity in the next 10 years, Titus says.
