Romney Says Obama Has Failed on Energy Policy

FORT LUPTON, Colo. (AP) - Republican Mitt Romney says President
Barack Obama claiming credit for increased American energy production is akin to Romney saying he was responsible for the Red
Sox winning the World Series when he was Massachusetts governor.

Romney stood near drilling equipment in Fort Lupton, Colo., on
Wednesday and blasted his rival's energy policies as irresponsible.

While he acknowledged that energy production has increased since
Obama took office in 2009, Romney said that was because of increases on private lands and not because of anything the government did.

Romney said Obama only favors above-ground energy sources, such
as wind and solar power. Romney says that if elected he would tap
energy sources from below the ground, too, such as oil and gas.
