DEFIANCE, Ohio (AP) - Republican Mitt Romney is renewing his focus on the economy as Democrats question his silence on a Senate candidate's controversial abortion comments. Romney is also trying to ignore new questions about a prominent supporter's divorce case. The GOP presidential nominee is scheduled to deliver an economic address in swing state Iowa Friday afternoon.
His campaign says Romney will use the speech to reiterate his plans for debt and job growth on the same day the government issues a report on the nation's economic growth. After a 40-hour battleground state blitz, President Barack Obama's taking a brief break from the campaign trail and plans to spend much of Friday at the White House.
