LAS VEGAS (AP) - President Barack Obama's plane has touched down in Las Vegas for a visit focused on immigration reform.

The commander-in-chief landed at McCarran International Airport at 11:07 a.m. Tuesday. He's scheduled to speak just before noon at Del Sol High School.

Obama is laying out his vision for comprehensive immigration legislation in relatively friendly territory.

Latinos make up more than a quarter of the population of Nevada, and they voted for Obama by a 2-to-1 margin last fall.

A 2011 Pew Hispanic Center study found that illegal immigrants account for 7.2 percent of Nevada residents. That's a larger portion than any other state.

Illegal immigrants also play a large role in Nevada's economy, which is driven in part by construction and hospitality.

This is Obama's first Nevada visit since the campaign.
