CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - The push to get medical marijuana card holders in Nevada a way to access the drug is nearing a pivotal juncture.

The Assembly Judiciary Committee heard passionate support or SB374 Saturday with just days left before the Legislature is set to adjourn. The Senate already approved the measure.

Democratic Sen. Tick Segerblom of Las Vegas is the primary sponsor of the bill which imposes fees and requirements for growers, processors and dispensaries of marijuana.

It is an effort to correct a legal confusion that has burdened some Nevadans for over a decade.

Nevada voters legalized medical marijuana in 2000 and a year later were able to obtain medical marijuana cards. But there is no legal way for patients to acquire medicinal pot unless they grow it themselves.
