CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Supreme Court Chief Justice Kris Pickering is scheduled to deliver the biennial State of the Judiciary address to Nevada lawmakers.

Pickering will address the joint session Friday at 11 a.m. in the Assembly chambers.

She is likely to mention the pending Nevada Senate resolution that would establish an appellate court under the Supreme Court to help ease some of the strain on Nevada's highest court.

The annual report on the judiciary released this past December showed 357 cases per Supreme Court justice in 2012 - the highest ratio among states without an intermediate appellate court.

Nevada voters rejected the establishment of an appellate court the last time it was on the ballot in 2010.
