RENO -- The June 10th primary election is drawing nearer, and there are some important dates coming up for voters. If you are not already registered to vote, and want to register by mail, the postmark can not be later than May 10th. The deadline to register to vote in-person or online is May 20th.
Early voting is set for May 24th through June 6th. Washoe County Registrar of Voters Luanne Cutler said it's not uncommon for more people to vote early than on election day. While on election day individuals have a set polling location, there are more than a dozen early voting locations for voters to choose from.
Cutler said sample ballots, which include early voting locations, will be mailed about a week before early voting begins. She said overseas and military ballots have already been mailed.
Voter registration information shows Washoe County gained more than 12-hundred active voters since January. The June primary election will advance two of eighteen candidates for the office of Reno mayor.
A mayoral candidate forum is set to take place Tuesday at the Jot Travis Building at UNR. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. to the public.
