House Speaker Endorses Mitt Romney for President

WASHINGTON (AP) - House Speaker John Boehner has finally
endorsed Mitt Romney to be the Republican presidential nominee,
saying his economic policies would help the unemployed find jobs.

The Ohio Republican told reporters Tuesday that Romney's proposals will offer a strong contrast with what Boehner says are
President Barack Obama's failed efforts to revive the economy. Boehner said he will do all he can to help Romney win in November.

Romney no longer has serious challengers for the nomination and has been winning endorsements from many in the GOP establishment.

Boehner said he had withheld an endorsement until now because as
chairman of the Republican National Convention in late August in
Tampa, Fla., he wanted to make sure that all the GOP presidential
contenders had a fair chance to win.
