CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Half of active Nevada voters have already cast ballots during early voting in advance of Tuesday's general election.
The secretary of state's office says nearly 627,000 voters - or 50 percent of active voters - have cast ballots, with one day of early voting left. Friday is the last day to vote early. After that, voters will have to go to specified polling locations on Tuesday.
Democrats statewide lead Republicans by 41,000 in the number of ballots cast, either in person or by mail. Of those who have voted in person, about 44 percent were Democrats, compared with 36 percent registered as Republican.
But Republicans have outpaced Democrats in absentee voting by about a 4 percentage point margin.
Democrats hold a 90,000 voter registration advantage statewide.
