RENO, Nev. - Today is the last day to register to vote if you want to cast your ballot in the election this November.

A record number of people in Washoe County have registered to vote in this election. Just last week, more than 7,300 people registered to vote in Washoe County.

"There's certainly a lot more interest in this election than there has been in the last few local elections," says Luanne Cutler, with the Washoe County Registrar of Voters Office. "So in order to have a voice, in order to be able to complain like we all say - you've got to register and we need you to turn out and vote on election day or prior."

Cutler says the process takes just a few minutes.

The Washoe County Registrar of Voters Office on East Ninth Street in Reno will stay open until 9pm Tuesday night. That is four hours later than usual.
