SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Republican Rep. Mary Bono Mack and her Democratic challenger, Raul Ruiz, are awaiting elections' officials latest update of outstanding votes in their as-yet undecided congressional race.
Of the three U.S. House contests in California that remain too close to call, Bono Mack has the largest margin to make up of any Republican incumbent. She trails Ruiz by less than 5,000 votes.
Both campaigns are awaiting elections officials' announcement Friday of the latest count of mail-in and provisional votes.
In California's 7th District near Sacramento, Republican Rep. Dan Lungren trails his Democratic opponent Ami Bera by less than 200 votes. In San Diego, GOP Rep. Brian Bilbray was behind his challenger, Democrat Scott Peters, by just over 800 votes.
