LAS VEGAS (AP) - A judge set $50,000 bail and ordered house arrest for a former Nevada state assemblyman now held in Las Vegas on felony and misdemeanor allegations that he tried to grab a police officer's gun during a domestic dispute call in February 2013.
Steven Brooks also is being held on $100,000 bail on a separate firearms charge stemming from a January 2013 arrest.
It wasn't immediately clear Thursday if Brooks or his family could post $150,000 for his release before an Aug. 18 status check and an Aug. 21 preliminary hearing.
Brooks' new attorney, Adam Gill, declined comment.
Brooks was returned in custody this week to Las Vegas after serving 16 months in jail for a freeway chase and fight with California police in March 2013.
