KANAS LAKE, China -- Tourists and workers at China's Kanas Lake captured a rare sight on video: the so-called "water monsters." Wang Hongqiao, a worker at the Kanas Lake Scenic Zone in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is the person who took the video of the phenomenon in the lake Thursday morning.
Wang, along with some tourists who were on a cloud-sightseeing visit, all noticed the water-waves triggered by a fast-moving creature or creatures in the lake.
According to witnesses the "monsters" were seen as conspicuous white spots by their movement in the water. They swam towards the west direction for a few hundred meters before returning to the east.
