YREKA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities in remote Siskiyou County have named two San Francisco Bay area men as the two suspects they're looking for in connection with the theft of more than $1 million in gold from the county courthouse's historical collection.

The Redding Record-Searchlight reports arrest warrants have been issued for 49-year-old David Dean Johnson, of El Cerrito, and 51-year-old Scott Wayne Bailey, of El Sobrante.

Officials say after the two broke into the gold collection at the Siskiyou County Courthouse in Yreka in February 2012 they made off with $1,257,500 in gold, jewelry and artifacts.

Siskiyou County sheriff's detectives say they found additional evidence in their search for Johnson and Bailey when they traveled to the Bay Area Thursday looking for the two suspects.
