RENO, NV - If you're from the western United States, you may have an accent that is attractive to many people.
A survey done for the website Cupid.com indicates a "Western" accent is the third most popular accent in the country among people looking for love. The site's news release says a person's subconscious reaction to a person's accent could make or break a relationship, and with such a varied number of accents in our country, it's key to note what accents attract more people than others.
The survey asked 2,000 men and women what accents they like and what accents turn them off. The release says the West is home to what many consider America’s ‘most natural’ accent, and covers the largest territory of any other region. Here's the breakdown:
1st... Southern – 36.5% (45 males/28 females)
2nd... New York –16.5% (10/23)
3rd... Western – 13 % (16/10)
4th... New England – 10.5% (8/13)
5th... New Jersey –7% (4/10)
6th... Canadian –7% (3/11)
7th... Midwestern – 5.5% (8/3)
8th... Mid-Atlantic – 4% (5/3)
