LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say a man whose prized sports car was stolen 42 years ago has it back after spotting it on eBay.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Sunday that Robert Russell contacted authorities after determining the 1967 Austin Healy stolen from his Philadelphia home in 1970 was now in East Los Angeles.
A Sheriff's Department detective tracked it down to an auto dealership. Russell picked it up and took it to Texas, where he now lives.
Russell told deputies that he bought the Austin Healy for $3,000. It's now valued at $23,000. Detectives say Russell told them he kept searching for the car, not for its monetary value, but because it had sentimental value to him and his wife.
