Couple 'Buys' $95k Camaro With Fake ID and Check

A local couple steals a brand new Camaro right off the car lot after giving a fake ID and fake check.

According to police two suspects entered Champion Chevrolet Oct. 22, Mon., using a false name and identification, and later left the business with a new Chevrolet Camaro valued at $95,000.

The female suspect walked into the business with an approved on line financial report, and asked to purchase the high priced Camaro. The suspect then provided a down payment in the form of a personal check, and later left the business with her new ride.

The check returned fraudulent approximately four days later, which prompted the stolen vehicle report. The female suspect was accompanied by one male suspect who never produced identification. The suspects and vehicle are currently outstanding.

The Reno Police Department is asking the publics assistance in locating the vehicle, or possibly identifying the female suspect from the photograph used on the false ID.

Suspect: Black female adult, 5'6, 140 lbs, blk hair, brn eyes.

Suspect: Black male adult.

Vehicle: 2012 Chevrolet Camaro (Panther), black in color, (600 hp).
