ALFRED, Maine (AP) - A prosecutor says an insurance agent on trial for promoting prostitution was not just a voyeur who watched sexual acts via Skype but an active business partner who signed a lease, reviewed ledgers and checked out the background of clients.
But the defense characterized Mark Strong Sr. as a man infatuated with a single mother who bad decisions but never made any money from the operation.
Jurors heard closing arguments Tuesday and will begin deliberations Wednesday.
The 57-year-old Strong is charged with helping Zumba instructor Alexis Wright run a prostitution business in the seaside town of Kennebunk. Wright will be tried later.
The scandal attracted international attention after it was reported that Wright's ledgers indicated she had 150 clients and made $150,000 over 18 months.
