Vandals Target Law Enforcement Patrol Vehicles

DAYTON, NV -- For two nights in a row, vehicles have been vandalized in Lyon County. Monday night into Tuesday, vandals slashed tires near Sutro Tunnel. Then, Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, more vehicles were damaged near Occidental Drive, south of Highway 50.

According to investigators, a dozen vehicles were damaged the first night. Many members of law enforcement live in the neighborhood hit the second night. The Lyon County Sheriff's Office said seven patrol vehicles were damaged as were a dozen personal vehicles belonging to law enforcement. Three of the vehicles belong to NHP, one to tribal police and three to Lyon County.

Secret Witness is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Secret Witness is 322-4900. People may also contact the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.
