Two Arrested on Kidnapping Charges

RENO, NV - Washoe County Sheriff's detectives have arrested two people in connection with the case of a woman found walking on US 395 in the north valleys the night before Thanksgiving.

27-year-old Abby Bartholet and 32-year-old Charles Jennings are charged with kidnapping, battery and false imprisonment.

Detectives believe Bartholet and Jennings abducted a woman from a home in the Red Rock area Wednesday, November 27, 2013. About 8:30 that night, the victim escaped the suspect vehicle while traveling northbound at a high rate of speed on 395 between Red Rock Road and White Lake Parkway, where she may have attempted to flag down passing motorists.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. She has since been released and is recovering.

Detectives are still working on determine the circumstances and motive of the kidnapping. The victim's name is not being released at this point.
