RENO - The truck driver involved in Friday's fatal Amtrak crash had three speeding violations while driving a school bus in California in a span of less than a year, according to DMV records.
Lawrence Valli, 43, died Friday after his truck collided into a Bay Area bound Amtrak train near Fallon, NV.
DMV records out of Nevada show five traffic violations. Four of the violations were for speeding. Three of those violations involved driving a school bus over the posted speed limit.
All three of those speeding tickets were handed out between Dec. 2008 and Oct. 2009. Records do not show exactly where in California those violations occurred.
