TONOPAH, Nev. – Here is your chance to adopt one of America’s Living Legends right off the range!

Trapsite adoptions are being coincided with both the Stone Cabin Complex wild horse gather to start in, February and the Bullfrog wild burro gather in, March.

The selection and number of wild horses and wild burros available will be based on demand prior to the adoption.

All wild horse/burro adoption requirements apply, including an approved adoption application. Due to the fluid nature of wild horse/burro gathers, it is essential that potential adopters contact the Tonopah Field Office to express interest, submit applications and obtain important details as they become available.

The dates and locations of these adoption events will be set closer to the gather dates. If there is little or no interest in a trapsite adoption, before the gathers starts, it will be cancelled. More information can be found by contacting the Tonopah Field Office at 775-482-7800 or by visiting our website at: https:/www.blm.gov/nv/st/en/fo/battle_mountain_field.html.

The adoptions will be conducted through Lottery Drawing, Competitive Bid, or First-Come, First –Served procedures (based on interest).

The base adoption fee is $125.
