CARSON CITY, NV - Carson City Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man accused of robbing a Wells Fargo bank branch Friday afternoon.
Sheriff Kenny Furlong says about 2PM, a man walked into the branch at William Street and Saliman Road. He demanded cash while holding a knife.
He got money and left the bank, but was arrested within 300 feet of the building after quick action by bank employees, according to Furlong.
Furlong says 51-year-old Terry Fawler of Crescent City, California was taken into custody while holding cash and the knife. He was booked into the Carson City Jail with bail listed at $40,000.
Furlong credits Wells Fargo employees with the success of this arrest. The entire incident was resolved within four minutes. He says this was only made possible because employees and managers were well prepared for incidents such as this and have excellent training to insure employees know just what to do when they occur.
