YERINGTON, NV - A Lyon County judge in Yerington has found the suspect in five killings competent to stand trial.
Jeremiah Diaz Bean was scheduled to be in court for a competency hearing October 1, but when he requested that be moved up, District Judge Leon Aberasturi looked at information provided him and found Bean competent.
The case now goes back to Canal Township Justice Court in Fernley, but no date has been set for further proceedings.
Bean faces multiple charges, including multiple counts of First Degree Murder, stemming from the murders of two couples in Fernley and one man in Mustang in May 2013.
Lyon District Attorney Robert Auer has not announced whether he will seek the death penalty.
