SPARKS, NV - If you have had anything stolen from our home or car recently, there's a chance you could get your stuff back. Sparks Police is displaying evidence from a massive case, which has yet to go to trial. A full room of apparent stolen goods; the evidence is being displayed in a garage so victims can claim their items.
You'd have to search far and wide to find such a wide variety of "things" in one place.
Actually you'd just have to go to a house on 9th Street in Sparks and bust some burglary and robbery suspects.
Sparks Police says that's what happened within the last two weeks, and this is what was taken into custody.
“Some compressors, we have law mowers, we have very interesting antiques as far as baseball cards, comic books, we have a lot of power tools,” says Steve Fiore with Sparks Police Evidence Division.
The items are as varied as probably the people who owned them.
There are bikes, some intact, some just frames, costume jewelry, antique radio..and for those of you who worked long and hard as a collector, your time may not have been wasted if say, an extensive ports card collection, or a comic book collection belongs to you.
That includes a coin collection as well.
There are photographs which only the rightful owner would appreciate.
But to get back to the garage, you'll need to have filed a police report in the past listing what items were taken from your home or car
Sparks Police says the robbers worked Northern Nevada for probably about six months.
While some of these items definitely have a monetary value to them, others have a sentimental value that only the owner would understand.
Chances are if you find an item that belongs to you here, there will be others.
If you want to see whether any of your stolen items are in the Sparks evidence garage, its open to the public Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
You will need to bring your police report from a Northern Nevada law enforcement agency in order to look around.
