Sparks kicked off the 'Can the Mayor' food drive Wednesday to benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and they need food items from you.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to make a difference in the lives of so many of our citizens right here at home, particularly during this tough economic time," Sparks mayor, Geno Martini said. "I encourage getting canned!"
The food drive will continue until Dec. 10 and items can be dropped off Monday through Friday at Sparks City Hall, 431 Prater Way, during normal business hours.
