Victim in Sparks Bicycle Accident Dies

SPARKS, NV – Sparks police have identified the man hurt in a bicycle accident, and an obituary in the Reno Gazette-Journal indicates he has died.

Police say they arrived in the 3400 block of 10 Mile Drive in Wingfield Springs June 25th. They found 64-year-old Nicholas Frey unconscious with serious head injuries.

He man was taken to Renown and put into ICU. Police say they do not believe another vehicle was involved; they say he had medical issues and for some reason apparently hit a curb and then a tree. He was wearing a helmet, but the impact was too strong for it.

Police don't believe there is any crime involved in this case, but anyone who has information, please contact the Sparks Police Department at 775-353-2231.
