RENO, NV - Two people who died after being pulled from the Truckee River Monday afternoon have been identified.
Police and fire crews were called to the river around 4:00 Monday afternoon. Police say 17-year-old Wilfredo Avila-Sedano and 24-year-old Manuel Chavarin were swimming when they became overwhelmed by the river. They were found in the river near the McCarran bridge in Sparks, and taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Police say it's too soon to know if alcohol was a factor, but investigators have ruled out foul play.
