The Silver Legacy Resort Casino and Eldorado show their support for the Wolf Pack by donning the blue.

In response to a call for downtown properties to support their local football team by Mayor Cashell, Silver Legacy and Eldorado answered the call by turning off their customary light colors and glowing blue through the weekend.

Silver Legacy representatives say they are proud to support the Nevada Wolf Pack football team as WAC rivals Boise State come to town Friday.

“This is a great opportunity to show our school spirit, especially with so many Boise State fans coming here to support their team,” says Glenn Carano, director of marketing for Silver Legacy Resort Casino. “Even those who don’t follow Nevada athletics can appreciate the new energy these lights bring to downtown Reno.”

The Eldorado's exterior marquee screens will feature special Wolf Pack messages and the Eldorado sign lights on Sierra and Virginia Streets will be blue to match.

“We always want to go above and beyond to help support our community,” says Gene Carano, vice president of the Eldorado. “The University is a major part of this city and the Pack is having an outstanding football season. We’re proud to show our silver and blue spirit along with the rest of downtown Reno.”

This announcement comes on the heels of the recent alteration to the Reno arch that is glowing blue in anticipation of the upcoming game, which kicks off at 7:15 p.m Friday.
