Name Released of Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run

RENO, NV - Reno police are still searching for a hit and run driver who left a woman dead in the street.

Police tell KOLO 8 News Now the accident happened around 8PM Thursday, April 3, on Mae Anne Avenue between Coit Plaza and Sierra Highlands Drive, not far from Walmart.

When police got there, they found 50-year-old Dianne Lane unresponsive and in the roadway. Witnesses say Lane was crossing the street not in a crosswalk when she was hit by a dark full-size pickup, whose driver then drove off. Investigators believe the fact that she was not in a crosswalk contributed in part to the crash. Lane died on scene.

The Reno Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
