DOUGLAS COUNTY, NV - A San Francisco man is behind bars after a chase that got up to 100mph.

Shortly before 10 Friday morning, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was advised that the California Highway Patrol was in pursuit of a black Chevy Malibu. CHP attempted to stop the vehicle in California near Meyers, when the vehicle sped off toward Nevada. As the vehicle entered into Nevada, Douglas County Sheriff deputies joined the pursuit, which continued up Kingsbury Grade.

The Malibu continued on Kingsbury Grade into the Carson Valley at speeds in excess of 90mph. The vehicle then turned north onto Foothill Road and continued at speeds over 100mph.

The Malibu traveled through the town of Genoa. The driver, 53-year-old Steven Linsey, finally yielded at Jacks Valley Road and Trail Court.

Linsey was arrested and transported to the Douglas County Jail and booked on charges of reckless driving, eluding a police officer, DUI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending from California.
