RENO, NV -- The All-American BBQ Festival is a new event for Reno. Organizers are hoping to extend the 4th of July celebration and attract about 40 thousand people to downtown. About the only thing you won't find is fireworks.
On the menu you'll find everything from pulled pork to ribs, and chicken wings. While you're eating you can enjoy plenty of free, live entertainment with bands performing through the weekend on two main stages. You can even do some shopping at nearly 100 vendor booths.
The enormous event does require closure of some downtown streets, and you can expect a lot of foot traffic. That means if you aren't headed to the festival, you'll probably want to avoid downtown. If you are ready to get your grub on, the festival continues Saturday 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM and Sunday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
