Reno Woman Nabbed For Stealing From Elderly

An investigation by the Reno Police Department dating back to 2012 has landed a woman in jail on charges of burglarizing residents at the Emeritus Senior Living Center located at 5165 Summit Ridge Ct, in Reno.

RENO, NV - An investigation by the Reno Police Department dating back to 2012 has landed a woman in jail on charges of burglarizing residents at the Emeritus Senior Living Center located at 5165 Summit Ridge Ct, in Reno.

Residents had reported cash and other valuables missing from 2012 until August 1, 2014.

As the investigation progressed it was discovered that one of the housekeepers at the facility was possibly a suspect.

When the RPD spoke with the housekeeper she admitted to stealing from the elderly residents.

The housekeeper was arrested for two counts of Burglary, two counts of Grand Larceny with both charges having elderly enhancements.

Arrested was 52-year-old Reno resident Sherry Sjostrom.
