RENO, NV - Reno police are investigating a shooting near the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa Tuesday night. The shooting happened a little after 11pm at the intersection of Atlantis Dwy and South Virginia Street.

Sergeant Dave Macaulay tells KOLO 8 News Now a man was shot in the head at least twice while driving a truck. He drove to the Atlantis valet parking, got out, and asked for help. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of what police say are non-life-threatening wounds. His name hasn't been released.

Police quickly arrested 37-year-old Eric Dale and charged him with attempted murder. They say they don't know the motive, but Dale had called 911 several times earlier in the day to report he thought he was being followed. It's not clear if he thought the man he allegedly shot had been after him.

Police also say Dale is not connected to another shooting Tuesday night on Neil Road. Police are still investigating that case, a domestic dispute in which no one was hit.
