Reno Airport Makes Top 10 List of "Scary" Airports
RENO, NV - Attention passengers: Reno has one of the “scariest” airports in the country. That's according to a new survey of professional pilots done by Yahoo! Travel.
Reno-Tahoe International Airport comes in at number 10 for the scariest airports in the country.
Our high elevation, combined with reduced air density in the summer can make taking off, flying, and landing tricky.
Pilots say Reno's location can impact a plane's lower engine thrust, wing's lift and propeller efficiency, and that means slower acceleration for take-off.
A few other airports on the list are Chicago's Midway, Reagan National in Washington, D.C., and New York's Laguardia Airport.
